Today's Kitchen Tip: Preserving cherished recipes

Scan your recipes into the computer
so you have it exactly as it was written by grannie.
If you have recipes that were passed on to you or ones that are special to you, you want to be very careful with them.  Of course, you can use them from the card or paper they were written on, but be careful.  After years of use, these hand-written recipes may be fragile.

To save them for posterity, just scan the recipe into your computer to preserve the hand-written document.  This will keep your original recipe from becoming damaged and will allow you to 'see' the actual hand-writing from the recipe by way of using a copy.

As an added bonus, if you have scanning software you use for other purposes (such as Neat Receipts) you can scan the recipes into their database and it allows you to categorize and organize your recipes at the same time.

About Me

My photo
I am a former information technology girl who left the business and opened up a cooking school. Cooking and entertaining are my passions and I love to share this passion with others. I am currently on hiatus from teaching classes, but hope to begin offering them soon. In the meantime, enjoy the tips. Students always told me how much they loved the tips and now you can, too. I'll put out a new tip each day.
