I love to use wood cutting boards but always worry that germs will remain in the board after I clean it.
To assure that my wood cutting boards are cleaned and disinfected, I like to wash the board with soap and water on a damp cloth, then rub a lemon half all over the board. The lemon will work to disinfect the cutting board and will get into the grooves.
NEVER put your wood cutting board in the dishwasher, that is, unless you want to buy a new one.
