Today's Kitchen Tip: Easy hint when making candy

I love to make homemade candy...especially caramel.  If you have ever worked with homemade candies you know that they can stick to everything.  I used to grease the pans, use parchment paper and attempt using aluminum foil.  I tried everything to no avail.  My candies still stuck

Then my sister-in-law mentioned that I could use silicone pans to form my caramel and it would be easy to remove.  I tried it and absolutely loved that idea.  My candies pop right out of the pan.

This works with other candy, too.  I have used these pans with peanut brittle, bark, and several other types of candy.  I am not a fan of silicone for baking, but for candy making...it's the bees knees.

More tips on silicone later.
