What do I do if I only need a pinch of a spice I do not have

Spices can be very expensive and over time, they lose some of their flavor. 

Rather than waste a lot of money on a spice you will only use once, I purchase a little bit from a store that sells spices in bulk.  That way I do not buy an entire jar that I will end up throwing out.
