Today's Kitchen Tip: Try new ingredients to keep from getting bored with your meals

Tomato Carrot Noodles --
something you don't see every day.
Do you ever feel like you are in a cooking rut?  Everybody gets that way occasionally.  One way to get out of the rut is to try a new ingredient.

I like to go into an ethnic market and find interesting ingredients.  I'll get it home and do some research to see how to use it.

MOST of the time, I will enjoy the ingredient and integrate it into my repertoire.  Occasionally, I'll will get a dud, but that is okay.

If you prefer, you can do a little research (GOOGLE is your friend) before you shop to identify an ingredient you want to try.  Either way, you will have something brand new to enjoy.

If you prefer to use recipes, GOOGLE can also help you find a recipe to use your ingredient.  This time I found tomato/carrot noodles.  They sound interesting and I think they will be really good with some of my tomato dishes.

I am currently on hiatus from teaching classes, but hope to begin offering them soon. In the meantime, enjoy the tips. Students always told me how much they loved the tips and now you can, too. I'll put out a new tip each day.
