I was on the Microplane site earlier today and noticed that they had an 'outlet' link on their website. I did not know that there was a Microplane outlet and decided to look. It had a few interesting products. Some were factory seconds, not because the product was inferior, but because the color wasn't perfect. Usually factory seconds come with a warranty and are guaranteed to function perfectly. I don't think I would care if my black handle color isn't perfect. The ones I use tend to be in a drawer anyway.
So if you love a product and want to save money, check out their website to see if there's an outlet link. They might offer discontinued, seconds or even overstock products at a nice savings.
